PROMPT2PART

Materials

The right material starts with the application.

PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU each offer a different balance of rigidity, toughness, heat performance, weather resistance and flexibility. Tell us what the part needs to do and we can help narrow the choice.

M—01

PLA

Often used for
Concept models, visual prototypes and parts used in moderate indoor conditions
General profile
Crisp detail, good rigidity and an economical starting point
M—02

PETG

Often used for
Functional prototypes, brackets, housings and general-purpose components
General profile
A practical balance of toughness, durability and moisture resistance
M—03

ABS

Often used for
Functional parts, enclosures and components needing improved heat resistance
General profile
Tough, durable and better suited to elevated temperatures than PLA
M—04

ASA

Often used for
Outdoor housings, brackets and components exposed to sunlight or changing weather
General profile
Durable with improved UV and weather resistance for exterior applications
M—05

TPU

Often used for
Flexible guards, grips, feet, bumpers and impact-absorbing components
General profile
Flexible and resilient for applications that need controlled give

Material and colour availability may vary by project. Final suitability depends on part geometry, operating conditions and requirements.

Selection factors

What should the part withstand?

Mechanical load and impact

Heat or outdoor exposure

Flexibility or rigidity

Surface and appearance

Dimensional priorities

Budget and quantity

No specification? No problem.

Choose “Not sure — recommend a material.”

Describe the intended use, environment and performance priorities in your RFQ. A recommendation can then be made in context.
